Etsy shoppers buy the scene, not just the object

Etsy is not Amazon. People come here to find something that feels made by a person, and they buy when they can picture the item in their own life. A ceramic mug reads very differently on a sunlit kitchen table than it does floating on plain white. The setting is part of the sale.

That is why lifestyle shots matter so much here. A framed print above a real sofa, a necklace resting on linen beside dried flowers, a candle lit on a bedside table. These images do the imagining for the shopper so they do not have to.

The catch is that styling a proper set for every listing takes props, daylight, and hours you probably do not have when you also make the products by hand. That is the part an AI agent can take off your plate.

Start from a photo of the real thing

Etsy expects your photos to show the actual item a buyer will receive, and that is a rule worth keeping for your own reputation too. So the workflow here is not about inventing a product. It is about styling one you already made.

Photograph your finished piece once, even on a plain table under a window. Send that photo as a reference and describe the setting you want around it. The agent keeps your item as it is and builds the scene: the surface, the props, the light, the mood.

Your reference photo is used in memory to guide the result and is never stored. Nothing about your design sits on a server after the image comes back.

How your agent makes the image

Figgshield is an MCP connector. Your AI agent talks to it at https://api.figgshield.ai/mcp and asks it to generate an image. It works with Claude on desktop and in Claude Code, with Cursor, with Windsurf, with ChatGPT in Developer Mode on a paid plan, and with any other MCP agent.

The image model is Nano Banana 2 from Google. You give it your reference photo plus a short description of the scene, and it returns a finished image. A 1K or 2K image costs 8 credits, and a 4K image costs 16. Etsy shows photos large and lets buyers zoom, so 2K is a sensible default and 4K is worth it for close texture.

The finished file sits on a private link for seven days and is then deleted, so download it and add it to your listing while the link is live.

Fill all ten photo slots with intent

Etsy gives every listing up to ten image slots, and most sellers leave half of them empty or fill them with near duplicates. Each slot is a chance to answer a question the buyer has not asked yet, so give every one a job:

Ask your agent for each of these from the same reference photo, and you get a full, varied set in one sitting, all sharing the same light and mood so the listing looks composed rather than pieced together.

  • The hero lifestyle shot, your item styled in the setting it belongs in
  • A scale shot, the piece in a hand or beside a common object so size is obvious
  • A close detail of texture, stitching, glaze, or grain
  • Each color or size option you offer, all shot the same way
  • The packaging or gift wrap, since many Etsy orders are presents
  • One plain, well lit shot on a neutral background for buyers who just want a clear look

Add a video that plays right in the feed

Etsy lets you attach a short video to a listing, and it plays on its own in search and in the app. A little motion next to still competitors tends to catch the eye, especially on a phone.

Once you have a still you like, you can animate it. Pass the id of the image you already generated and the agent starts a video from that exact frame, so your item looks identical to the photo. The video models are Kling 3 and a faster Kling 3 Turbo tier, and a five second clip costs 35 credits.

That is enough for a slow turn, a gentle push in on a detail, or a soft light sweep across the piece. The same credit balance covers both images and video, so there is only one budget to watch.

What it costs and what happens to your files

Figgshield charges at cost. The model providers set the price and nothing is added on top. The only money the service makes is on credits people buy and never spend, so there is no reason to inflate the cost of a single image.

You start with a 7-day Pro trial at $5, which includes 150 credits. There is no free tier. Cancel before it renews and you pay nothing more. At 8 credits per image, that is enough to restyle the photos on a handful of your best listings and see whether it moves your views.

Every generated file lives on its private link for seven days and is then removed, and any reference photo you send is only ever used in memory. See how credits work if you want to plan a bigger batch across your whole shop.
