Choosing a video tier

Kling 3 or Kling 3 Turbo: how to choose

One tier is built for finish, the other for speed, and they cost the same per clip. Here is how to decide without overthinking it.

The short version

Reach for Kling 3 Turbo while you are still figuring out the shot, and switch to Kling 3 for the version you plan to publish. Turbo comes back faster, so you find out sooner whether your idea works. Kling 3 takes a little longer and gives you the cleaner finish.

Both produce a five-second clip for 35 credits, so this is not a choice about saving money on any single render. It is about matching the tier to the stage you are at.

If you only ever remember one rule: explore with Turbo, deliver with Kling 3.

What actually differs

The two tiers take the same kind of request. You describe a shot, name the camera move, the subject and the light, and you get a five-second clip back as a private link. The prompt you write does not change between them.

Kling 3 spends more time on the result, which shows up as steadier motion, cleaner edges and fewer of the small artefacts that give a generated clip away. Kling 3 Turbo trades some of that polish for a quicker turnaround, which is exactly what you want when you are testing an idea rather than finishing it.

Neither is a stripped-down version of the other. They sit at different points on the same line between speed and finish.

The cost question, answered honestly

A common assumption is that Turbo is the budget option. It is not cheaper per clip. A five-second render is 35 credits on either tier, drawn from the same balance you use for images.

So the real cost is a count, not a rate: how many clips do you generate before you are happy? That is where Turbo helps. A faster loop means you settle on the prompt sooner, so you commit fewer full Kling 3 renders to get the shot you want.

Put plainly, Turbo does not lower the price of a render. It lowers the number of renders you waste on the way there.

A ten-second decision test

When you are not sure which to ask for, run through these quickly. If most answers point one way, use that tier.

None of this is binding. It is just a fast way to stop deliberating and get back to the work.

  • Is anyone going to see this clip besides you? If yes, lean Kling 3.
  • Are you still changing the camera move, the subject or the timing? If yes, lean Turbo.
  • Do you need it back in the next minute to keep working? Lean Turbo.
  • Is this the final shot in a sequence you will hand off? Lean Kling 3.

Using both in one sitting

A normal session looks like this. You draft three or four variations on Turbo, changing one thing each time, until one of them lands. Then you rerun that exact prompt on Kling 3 for the clean version.

You can go a step further and start from a still. Generate an image with Nano Banana 2, get the frame right, then pass its id to the video tool so Kling 3 animates the shot you already approved. That keeps the look consistent and saves you describing the scene twice.

Switching tiers is just words. Tell your agent "do that one on Kling 3 Turbo" or "render the final on Kling 3" and it picks the right tool.

Getting started

Everything runs through one MCP connection at https://api.figgshield.ai/mcp, so Claude, Cursor, Windsurf or ChatGPT in Developer Mode can reach both tiers with no separate app.

You can start on the $5 Pro trial, which runs 7 days and includes 150 credits. There is no free tier. Cancel before it renews and you pay nothing more. Pricing is at cost: we pass the models through without a markup and make our money only on credits people never spend.

See pricing for the full picture or top up on the credits page.
